Last week I visited the island of La Palma (Canary Islands). There I tried to photograph starry skies and night landscapes. A type of photography I started already in the 90s (analogue of course), and later also digital. Today, this is becoming easier because the use of high ISO values has improved. Problem in The Netherlands is that it is almost nowhere dark enough. On La Palma it is dark. I shot starry skies and also placed the city in the valley in the foreground. Finally, I 'painted' a landscape with a flashlight. The milky way is not so bright in this time of the year compared to the summer, but that doesn't matter for the atmosphere.
